Do We Accept Your Insurance?

These days, with all the changes in the insurance industry, that question is very difficult to answer. We will try, in this limited time, to help you understand the complexity of the insurance industry. If we do not answer your questions here, you can contact our office at (303) 688-2000, speak with one of our friendly staff and they would be happy to assist you. As a matter of fact, if you would like to contact our office with your insurance information, we would be happy to call your insurance company and verify if it indeed does cover chiropractic.

Auto Insurance

If you have been involved in an auto accident, and your current problems are related to that accident, a new Colorado law went into effect Jan. 1 2009, requiring insurance companies to include a minimum amount of medical payment coverage on all automobile insurance policies issued in the state.

Often called “med-pay” for short, Medical Payment Coverage is a type of insurance, which provides at least $5,000 coverage for (each person) the insured driver and passengers to pay for injuries sustained in a car accident, regardless of who is at fault.

Did you fall getting out of your car, or did you hurt your back getting groceries out of the trunk? Your automobile insurance may cover these expenses as well.

Workers Compensation

Currently, in Colorado we live in a state where the employer has the right to send you to a doctor of his choosing. However, if you tell your employer about an injury and he does not send you to a doctor, you can come to our office and workers compensation should pay for needed chiropractic care at 100%.

Have you been sent to a doctor and you are not happy with his service? You can still receive needed chiropractic care. If your workman's compensation doctor will write a referral to our office your care will be covered 100%.

Don't forget, however, that the workers compensation doctor works for the insurance company and your employer, not for you. He may say no to a referral to a chiropractor. Most knowledgeable medical doctors know the many benefits of chiropractic care and will make the needed referral.

Still having trouble getting into our office under worker's compensation? Write a letter to the insurance company requesting our office be authorized for treatment of your condition. If the insurance does not answer you within 20 days you are now automatically a patient in our office. The insurance company is obligated to pay 100% for needed chiropractic care.

Still confused? Contact our office about workers compensation. We make the whole process easy so that we can help you get your health back.

General Health Insurance

There are three primary products on the market today. HMO insurance, PPO insurance and Standard (also called indemnity, deductible with co-payment, or 80/20 plans).

Standard policies:

This type of plan covers chiropractic care. Once your deductible is met you usually have a small co-payment per visit. Call our office at (303)688-2000 and our front desk staff would be happy to call your insurance to determine your chiropractic benefits.

PPO:

These policies do cover chiropractic care. This is a unique blend of the standard policies and the HMO product. You may have a primary care physician, but a referral is not needed to receive care in our office.

HMO:

These policies usually do not cover chiropractic care. The quality is usually poor. You must be able to work a maze of obstacles to obtain authorization to receive care anywhere outside the network.

Medicare:

Medicare does cover needed chiropractic care. Be careful when you purchase HMO policies to supplement your Medicare. If you have an HMO in conjunction with Medicare, you are governed by the HMO policies and you may no longer have a Medicare chiropractic benefit.

Slip and Fall Accidents (Personal Injury)

These usually cover chiropractic. Benefits vary, depending upon where the injury occurs.

Cash

Due to the maze of insurance hassles, HMOs and all the other problems with our health care system today, many of the patients at Boyd Chiropractic Centers are paying cash for their needed chiropractic care. We at Boyd Chiropractic Center are not unmindful of the negative economic condition that may exist. Money is tight. It is for this reason we offer a free initial consultation for our new patients. This will allow us to determine first if we can help you. If we can, we will discuss all your financial options and you can make an educated decision about the economics as it relates to your care and we have a variety of cash payment options. Call our office at (303) 688 -2000 for an appointment.
